FAQ
Questions about what to expect for your archiving session?
We've got your answers here.
How do I prepare for my archiving appointment?
-
Identify the objects you want to archive.
-
Gather your objects so that they are easily accessible during your appointment. We have a set time period to work within and you will want to be sure the time is spent discussing your items instead of gathering them. **Please note** We cannot help you move your items as we have a strict “no touch” policy. To keep the safety of your objects in your hands, all object handling is done only by the object owner.
-
We photograph your items in any condition—clean or dusty. However, if you want them clean and polished for the photographs, you must do so before the appointment time.
-
If you need to research details about your objects, do so before the appointment. The time allotted for your appointment is only for recording documentation as recalled by the owner.
What should I expect during my archiving session?
-
We arrive at your scheduled appointment time.
-
We set up a backdrop (and lighting if needed) for optimal photograph quality.
-
We sit together while we discuss your objects—one item at a time.
-
We photograph the first object and then ask questions about it while recording your responses.
-
Then we will move onto archiving the next object.
-
The process repeats until we have archived the number of objects included in the package you selected.
-
We pack up our backdrops and lighting and leave.
-
